A

activation

Activation is the process of associating your device or account with your assigned MultiLine number. MultiLine invitations include the necessary information to start the activation process. You must activate the mobile app every time you install or re-install it; you only need to activate the desktop apps once.

"Bring your own phone" A phrase meaning that users to use their own personal phone for work, instead of a separate coorporate phone.

Data mode

MultiLine apps can make calls using Minutes or Data. Data calls require an Internet connection such as WiFi or 4G/5G.

E

E911

E911, or enhanced 911, automatically displays the user's phone number and physical location. This feature enables emergency services to locate the user for emergency assistance. Calls in Data mode won't be allowed until the user registers their 911 information. This feature works in Data Mode or WiFi but is only for residents living in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U. S. Virgin Islands.

EMM

Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) is software that manages your access to company resources.

Exchange contacts

MultiLine can retrieve contacts from an Exchange database, such as Outlook or BlackBerry. Changes you make to contacts in MultiLine will be reflected in Exchange and vice versa.

IdP

An identity provider (IdP) is a system entity that creates, maintains, and manages identity information for principals and also provides authentication services to relying applications within a federation or distributed network. Identity providers offer user authentication as a service.

Minutes mode

MultiLine apps can make calls using Minutes or Data. Minutes calls require access to cellular service.

MSISDN

MSISDN

MSISDN stands for"Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number" Unique phone number for a mobile subscriber. Maximum 15 digits, it includes the international area code, national destination code, and phone number.

MultiLine

A set of Movius applications that enable client communications, including Movius MultiLine, Movius for BlackBerry, MultiLine for Intune, MultiLine for Salesforce, and more.

MultiLine invitations

Email or SMS messages that provide MultiLine users information they need to download and activate MultiLine applications. If users ever need to re-install MultiLine they will need to reactivate using the credentials in this invitation.

number series

Number series represents a grouping of numbers, such as those sharing a country code, or those sharing a country code and area code. These are configured in the Service Portal.

Open CTI

Open CTI connects MultiLine's computer telephony integration (CTI) system with Salesforce Call Center.

Opt-In

This feature helps meet regulations in some industries which require that prior to communicating with clients using text messages, the client's consent to receive text messages is requested and captured. For example, when the MultiLine user first texts a client, the client will receive a message which allows them to either opt-in to texting by replying “YES” or decline the invitation by replying “STOP” to the text conversation.

Organization

In the Management Portal, related users are grouped inside Organizations and Sub-Organizations. Policies are frequently set at the Organization level.

PAC

Porting Authorisation Code – is a code allowing an end user to port their MSISDN from an operator to another in UK.

PBX

Private Branch Exchange, a private telephone network used within an organization.

PTSN

Public Switched Telephone Network; essentially, the network of all telephones

R

Redaction

With Redaction, you can prevent certain kinds of information from being sent or received in text. This works by using a lexicon that identifies strings in outgoing and incoming text messages that contain information that shouldn't be shared. These messages can be blocked entirely, or the message can be sent with only the illegal content redacted.

Regular Expression

A regular expression is a sequence of characters that specifies a search pattern in text. Usually such patterns are used by string-searching algorithms for "find" or "find and replace" operations on strings, or for input validation.

relationship number

This number comes into play when a Multiline user is receiving an incoming or outgoing call using cellular minutes. This number intercepts and routes calls between MultiLine users and guest numbers.

Reserved tag

MMP admins may apply a reserved tag to some numbers to indicate they are for a specific purpose. When deleting a user account, the MMP admin has an option to add a reserved tag to that number so that the newly available number can be allocated for a specific purpose.

Retention policy

The Retention Policy defines what time period recordings remain in the Management Portal before they are automatically deleted. The customer can request a time period compatible with their process to view or offload the data to their own archives.

RIO

“Relevé d’Identité Opérateur” (RIO) In order to have their mobile number ported, the customer must be able to demonstrate that they are the owner of the mobile number, and must provide the RIO code. Format: 12 characters Example: 80P306URN1I8 The RIO is generated at the time of subscription to a new operator, and associated to the customer MSISDN for the entirety of their customer life. This code is unique per subscriber.

S

SAML

Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an open standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between parties, in particular, between an identity provider (IdP) and a service provider (SP). SAML is an XML-based markup language for security assertions.

SBC

Session Border Controller. It is a type of firewall for voice calls.

Secure recording offload service

Our secure recording offload service offers a simple method for your enterprise to receive permanent copies of your call, SMS, and social message activity for compliant archival.

Sequential Dial

This feature lets you assign additional numbers so that when someone calls your number, if you do not pick up the call, each number added to the list will ring in sequence.

Service portal

A Web Portal where Movius administrators enable and disable features, etc.

SFTP

SSH File Transfer Protocol. Provides file access, file transfer, and file management over any reliable data stream.

short code

Short codes, or short numbers, are short digit sequences, significantly shorter than telephone numbers, that are used to direct SMS and MMS messages. In addition to messaging, they may also be used for abbreviated dialing.

Simultaneous Dial

This feature lets you assign additional numbers so that when someone calls your number, the additional numbers will also ring until the first person picks up the call. Note: If you set your DND on, calls to your number will go to voicemail instead of to the numbers saved in your simultaneous dial list.

SIPREC

Secure connection from Movius Cloud to Client’s Data Centre. Calls are streamed live to the Client DC – no recording or storage on Movius at all. In the event the live stream to Client DC fails for some reason, the actual call will be dropped to ensure a call will not occur if recording fails.
