This is the content for Version 1.0.9 of the Alloy Chat for Teams. Release Planned on Jan 31, 2026.
Please be advised that we are currently in the process of rebranding the MultiLine Messaging application and the app name will be updated in coming months.
In MultiLine Messaging version 3.5.0, we introduced advanced attachment capabilities for WhatsApp, including support for images, documents, audio, video, contact cards, and location sharing. However, due to technical limitations within the Alloy Chat application, these advanced attachment features cannot be fully supported in its current version.
To ensure a smooth user experience, Alloy Chat 1.0.9 introduces graceful handling of unsupported attachments, preventing failures or unexpected behavior.
What’s New in 1.0.9
Graceful Handling of Unsupported Attachments
- When WhatsApp users send attachments that are supported in MultiLine Messaging 3.5.0 but not supported in Alloy Chat, the app will now:
- Display a clear, userโfriendly message indicating that the attachment format is not supported.
- Prevent crashes, blank screens, or app instability.
2. Stability & Compatibility Enhancements
- Ensures Alloy Chat remains functional and reliable even when receiving advanced attachment types.
- Backend compatibility aligned with WhatsApp enhancements in MultiLine Messaging 3.5.0, while still respecting Alloy Chat’s current technical constraints.
Impact to Users
- Alloy Chat users will not be able to open or download advanced attachments (e.g., PDFs, videos, audio files, contacts, location pins).
- Users will continue receiving text messages and images (already supported).
- Users are guided to alternative supported apps when necessary.
No Action Required
The fix is automatically applied as part of the 1.0.9 update.
